AN OPEN LETTER TO ROMAN CATHOLICS

By Mr R.C.C.

Greetings Catholic Friend,
Please be assured that I am for you, and that I wish you only the best. There are certain things which the Catholic Church stands for that I consider great, include helping to feed the hungry, and being opposed to abortion.
Furthermore, I believe that God has true Christians in many denominations, including in a number of Catholic Churches. God and I love Catholics, and I trust that this message will be a blessing to you as you look up and read each of the Scriptures listed, in your Catholic Bible.
PLEASE HAVE YOUR CATHOLIC BIBLE HANDY, AND LOOK UP EACH SCRIPTURE AS YOU READ THE FOLLOWING. PLEASE DO NOT READ THE FOLLOWING UNTIL YOU HAVE A CATHOLIC BIBLE WITH YOU.

I welcome my Catholic friends, including you, to let me know what you think of this letter, BUT ONLY AFTER YOU HAVE CAREFULLY READ ALL OF IT, INCLUDING ALL OF THE SCRIPTURES LISTED, FROM YOUR CATHOLIC BIBLE.

Friend, now that you have your Catholic Bible with you, let's, first of all, see what your Bible says about it's inspiration (Now read II Tim. 3:16-17; II Pet. 1:19-21). Now read what God's Word says about adding to and/or taking from what The Bible says, in Deut. 4:1-2; Prov. 30:5-6 and in Rev. 22:18-19.
Now read what God says about going by tradition, in Matt. 15:1-6 and Mk. 7:6-9,13.
Next read what God says about whether or not we should study our own Bibles to make sure that our Churches/denominations are teaching/preaching/practicing Truth, in Acts 17:11-12 and John 14:6.

Next my friend, read what God says about whether we are saved and kept by faith (true full trust and reliance upon Christ, and in the fact that He bled and died for our sins, and that He bodily rose again the third day; which faith produces good works), or whether we are saved by "faith" plus works ("faith in Christ plus faith in our own works" which are produced by our own efforts and strength), in John 3:14-21; 6:28-29; Rom. 3:20-4:5; Gal. 2:16-3:26; Eph. 2:8-10; II Tim. 1:9-12; Titus 3:3-8 and I Pet. 1:5-9.

Now lets check what God says about whether a person can be anything other than totally saved or totally lost, in John 3:36; I John 5:11-12; I Cor. 6:9-11 and II Cor. 5:17.

Its now time to read what God says about whether or not we can be absolutely certain that we are heaven bound, in Philip. 1:6; II Tim. 1:12 and I John 5:13.

Lets move on to check out what God says happens to each and every person after death. The Scriptures we need to read are in Lk. 16:19-31; Rev. 21:6-8; John 14:2-3 and Heb. 9:27.

Now we will see what God says about who baptism is for, in Acts 2:41; 8:35-38; Rom. 6:3-10 and Eph. 2:8-10.

We move our Bible Study on by reading what God says about how many mediators/mediatrix's there are between God and humans, and about Whom we should pray to, in Matt. 6:5-18; Acts 4:12 and I Tim. 2:5-6.

Please stay with it, my friends, we are making good progress in our study!

Now the question of fellowship; What does God say about whether or not we should fellowship with other sound, Bible believing/practicing Christians, in Prov. 13:20; II Cor. 6:14-18 and Rev. 18:4.

We now need to address the question of the status and position of Jesus' Mother. Read what God says about "His mother," in Gen. 1:26a,27,28a; 2:18,22-25; Deut. 4:35,39; Psa. 90:2; Isa. 45:18-22; 46:9; Micah 5:2; Lk. 8:19-21; 11:27-28; John 1:1-17; 8:58; Eph. 3:9; Co. 1:16-17; I Tim. 2:11-14 and Rev. 4:11.
Lets check out God's answers to the following questions;
(1) Was Mary conceived and born as a sinner?
(2) Since if she was born a sinner, she would need to offer sacrifices for her sins (which the law required Jews to do until Christ fulfilled the law at Calvary), did she therefore offer sacrifices for her sins?
(3) Did Mary become a saved, born again Christian by fully trusting Christ/God to be her Lord and Saviour?
Now read God's answers in Psalm 51:5; Rom. 3:10,23-28; 5:12-14; Lev. 12:6-8 and Lk. 2:21-24; 1:47. As far as we can tell from what is written in the Catholic Bible, Jesus never called Mary His mother (he called her "woman"), and neither Mary nor Christ told anyone to follow Mary; rather Christ and Mary told people to follow Christ; read John 2:1-5. Now read what God says about making and bowing down to statues, in Ex. 20:4-5.

As soon as you are able to, Friend, look up, in a complete Concordance of The Bible, each of the following words/titles, to see how many, and if any, are found in the Catholic Bible New Testament as being official titles/positions of offices held in local Churches; Monk(s), Nun(s), Pope(s), and Priest(s). The only name/title of these that is in the Catholic New Testament, is that of "priests," and in the Catholic N.T., other than references to Jesus our great high Priest, and references to O.T. priests, the name/title "priests" refers to each and every saved Christian. In the Catholic Bible New Testament, the only names/titles of the highest person, under God/Christ/Chief Shepherd, in each local Church, are: elders/bishops/pastors (you can verify this by checking in a complete concordance).
Now read what God says about whether or not these under shepherds are required to have wives and children, in I Tim. 3:2-5 and Titus 1:5-9.
Now read Who God says is the Head of The Church, and of each local Church, in Eph. 1:17-23; 4:11-15; 5:21-33 and Col.1:14-18. It is also advisable to check in a complete Concordance to see how many times you find "purgatory" in the Catholic Bible.

We have almost finished! But lets check what God says about where the following doctrines come from;
Doctrines which forbid marriage, and which forbid eating meat (on Fridays or whenever), in I Tim. 4:1-5.

A certain Church denomination has murdered many Christians, and one of the reasons they have done so is that the Christians they murdered did not believe in taking the Eucharist/Communion in exactly the way that certain Church denomination thought it should be taken. Now read what God says about whether or not it is good to murder those whose doctrinal views are not exactly the same as our's, in Prov. 25:21-22; Matt. 5:38-48; 6:9-15; Lk. 23:33-34; Rom. 12:9-21; I Thes. 5:15.
Friend, God lead and bless you for His glory.

Sincerely,
Your Friend,
Robert C. Carter
