Could what happened in heaven when Satan rebelled and was thrown out with the other rebellious angels, happen again in the new Heaven and Earth? How do we know it could not happen again?

UK Apologetics Reply:

No, we are assured that it could not happen again. The angels now have a clear record of where their rebellion finally led; they could not have known that for sure before. For further reassurance, just look at this:

17."See, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind. 18. But be glad and rejoice forever in what I will create, for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight and its people a joy. 19. I will rejoice over Jerusalem and take delight in my people; the sound of weeping and of crying will be heard in it no more." (Isaiah 65: 17-19).

Here is one of the deepest promises which God gives His people. There is no doubt that the whole setting here is of eternal delight and peace, a time and place where there will be no more weeping or despair. 'Jerusalem' is mentioned here but this should, of course, be seen as the eternal Jerusalem, as symbolic of the place where God will finally place His home alongside His saints, the redeemed of the Earth. At that future time there will be eternal peace in the Hew Heavens and New Earth.

Then I saw "a new heaven and a new earth," for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Look! God's dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 'He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. (Revelation 21:1-7).

So what happens here is that the very Creator of the universe gives His people a cast iron promise that with His New Heavens and New Earth all rebellion ceases for Eternity.
