New on UK Apologetics For November 2018

* QUESTION: DID PAUL AND JAMES REALLY DISAGREE ABOUT FAITH AND WORKS?

(The answer is no, but since this idea persists among some, it is high time to clarify this matter)

* QUESTION: A CATHOLIC FRIEND SAYS WE MUST BE MADE PERFECT BEFORE BEING SAVED; ISN'T THIS PERFECTIONISM?

(It is a little worrying that so many of us Protestants cannot correctly explain this matter)

* QUESTION: IS THE EARTH REALLY "MANY MILLIONS" OF YEARS OLD?

(There are things here that - as Christians - we all need to understand correctly; please go through this)

* QUESTION: IS YOUR SITE NOT SECURE? CAN YOU EXPLAIN THIS?

(Explaining the difference between http and https encoding)

ANOTHER LOOK AT SOME OLDER ARTICLES:

Please attempt to go through some of the following:

* ARTICLE: WHY ARE WE HERE? WHY WERE WE BORN? WHY WERE YOU BORN?

(My article of 2016; we should be prepared to give a biblical explanation to this question)

* ARTICLE: ARE THE BIBLICAL DOCUMENTS RELIABLE?

(This comes from Jimmy Williams)

* ARTICLE: IS THE BIBLE A TRUE NARRATIVE REPRESENTATION?

(This is a little 'heavier' and won't be for everybody)

* QUESTION: COULD MOSES REALLY HAVE WRITTEN GENESIS?

(My brief article from 2012)

* QUESTION: CAN YOU GIVE US THE APPROXIMATE LINEAGE OF CHRIST'S DEATH AND RESURRECTION?

(A question sent to me in 2012)

* QUESTION: CAN YOU EXPLAIN THE "IMMACULATE CONCEPTION" TEACHING?

(This question came my way in 2012)

* QUESTION: PROVING CURRENT WORLD EVENTS AND HAPPENINGS WITH BIBLE PROPHECY; CAN IT BE DONE?

(Be careful! Many fanatics and outright frauds, as well as sincere but misguided people, have adopted this approach)

Some Comments on Recent (and Older) Articles...

Sorry, but with my wife currently in hospital and other factors I have been unable to update the following section so I leave it for another month.
Robin.

"...love your website and thank you for the amazing work you have done. Curious as to your thoughts on 2 Timothy 2:15, and Paul's call to the Gentiles. John's baptism was for the Nation of Israel, not the church, that is what my bible says. Should the body of Christ being doing what God spoke to Israel directly, or are we a separate entity, a called out people? And then would like to hear your thoughts on the Rapture please, I notice you don't cover anything on it. Many thanks, appreciate your time. In Christ,......(from Tanzania- East Africa)."

MY ANSWER:
Question One:
The Rapture

Question Two:
2 Timothy 2:15:
'Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.' (not sure what your question is on this, please clarify).

Question Three:
John's Baptism for Israel?
Not sure which Bible you are using but all baptisms are for the church which is another way of saying that a true Christian baptism is to baptize one into Christ and the Church, the church is now spiritual Israel. God has now concluded His dealings with the physical people of Israel (a record of which is in our Old Testament).

Question Four:
Should the body of Christ be doing what God spoke to Israel directly, or are we a separate entity, a called out people?

The Israel of the Old Testament has now become the spiritual Israel of the Church. Today we are under the New Covenant, not the old covenant which was concluded in the cross of Christ. There is no need for us to be concerned with matters which only pertained to Old Testament Israel. We now obey the instructions which Christ gave to the Church in taking the Gospel to the world. Yes, we are called and chosen for this purpose. God is not directly dealing with two groups of people as some teach, but His Church. God's dealing with the physical people of Israel concluded with the closing of the old covenant. This is clear from the teaching of the New Testament."
(EDITOR: I have sent this lady a much fuller answer).

"...Interesting, more than that I will not say."

"...My pastor is very impressed with your website..."

"The teaching here always raises questions about the teaching one has received in the past."
