I want to ask about Paul's longing to see the Thessalonians in: 1 Thessalonians 2.18. Paul reveals here that Satan stopped him. Does Satan stops us in our Christian way?
UK Apologetics Reply:
If God allows it, Satan can indeed delay us, hinder us, or cause other problems. Sometimes God may prevent it but at other times He may allow it. Why might God permit it? Because God wants us to be a people who do not give up too easily, He wants us to have perseverance. At other times He may allow Satan to hinder us because He does not wish a certain thing, occurence, or perhaps a meeting to happen.
Because there is always a possibility that Satan could hinder us in what we set out to do, we should always pray for the Lord's assistance or 'safe passage' in any endeavour, journey or future plan.
Nevertheless, we should be clear that - during this age of the Church - Satan cannot prevent God from adding truly called and chosen people to the Body of Christ.
27. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. (John 10:27-29).
