A Question I Was Asked:

I Am Disturbed by the new 'Courts of Heaven' Teaching. Can You Help?

Hi - Last year I read the book - Courts of Heaven (Robert Henderson). Why do you need to consult the courts of heaven if Satan no longer has access to God? Jesus is our advocate, why do we need an advocate if Satan cannot accuse us? I am so confused.

Don't allow this to get you confused. Henderson, in my opinion, is a typical extreme charismatic and prosperity teacher. I had never heard of him until you mentioned him but I just spent some time on his website and looking at things he has written. I'm afraid it is the usual stuff.

Stick to the teachings of the Bible not to these various new slants of triumphalist and prosperity teachers who seek a personal following. His recent book will cost you just under £20 on Amazon (hardback), why bother when the Bible - the book he claims that he bases his teachings upon - is within everyone's reach, and most people's homes? Amazon writes of Henderson:

"Robert Henderson is a global apostolic leader who operates in revelation and impartation. His teaching empowers the body of Christ to see the hidden truths of Scripture clearly and apply them for breakthrough results. Driven by a mandate to disciple nations through writing and speaking, Robert travels extensively around the globe, teaching on the apostolic, the Kingdom of God, the Seven Mountains and most notably, the Courts of Heaven."

I'm afraid that that one quote about this man already tells one a lot about him. Henderson (apparently) makes quite a big thing of 'the courts of heaven,' but this is not even a biblical expression. Focus on your Bible, not these high-profile preachers.
