The Authorship of the Bible

Questions will always remain, but the following is probably the closest we can presently get in stating who wrote which Bible books, and approximately when. This bears in mind the latest biblical scholarship but nobody would claim that it answers all possible questions. The bottom line is: we know this book is divinely inspired. Other matters are less important.

* The very, very late dating of John's writings, especially Revelation, once so popular, is now usually rejected for solid biblical reasons, including the fact that the temple (destroyed in AD70) still appeared to be standing when John wrote! Revelation has even been dated as late as 98-100AD but it is now understood that there is no solid biblical reason for affording such a late date to John's writings.
