Just a Few Things You Should Know

If this is your first visit, you are very welcome to our website! (this page will have opened in a separate window so, when you are finished reading, if you use Internet Explorer, just use your browser 'x' to close it and our homepage will still be present underneath. In Firefox and Google Chrome, close the tab called, "Your Browser and This Website" at the top of your screen).

Okay, browser-wise, here is what you need to know: UK Apologetics, just like our sister sites, Museltof Countercult and Apologetics and Witness to the Word will be found to be substantially viewable on just about every modern computer browser. We are fine on Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome, Safari and most of our pages also work fine on the almost obsolete Netscape (a few don't).

In our opinion, our various pages (we use several designs and have never felt the need to stick to just one) are probably best all-round on Internet Explorer 7 and 8. A very few pages look disastrous on Internet Explorer 4 and 5, but those browsers are now best considered obsolete and should not be used.

Increasingly, some of our pages will also present a problem to Internet Explorer 6; again, that version is now fast heading for being considered obsolete. Around 70% of our pages are now written in XHTML (rather than the older HTML), and from, autumn, 2009, we are gradually putting these pages on a true XHTML footing rather than allowing browsers to present them as HTML, this will make those pages unviewable in Internet Explorer 6.
I suppose the question could be asked: Why don't we just leave them as they are? Because the technology of the internet is moving forward and, within a few years, XHTML will be the normal standard, with pages actually presented as true XHTML rather than a HTML/XHTML compromise. But true XHTML, as things currently stand, is not viewable on IE6. This is why we are only changing things very gradually. By about mid-2010, we are told, usage of IE6 (14% in summer 2009), should be down to about 10%. Once again, if you are using that particular browser, may we respectfully suggest that you upgrade? Apart from any other reasons for doing so, there are often serious computer security issues in continuing to use outdated browsers.

If you have come to our website to start to find answers for some of the big spiritual and philosophical questions of life, you have certainly come to the right place! May we suggest that you freely use our homepage 'searchbox' to find articles of particular interest. We hope your stay will be a fruitful one. If you are using Internet Explorer, you may now close this window and you will find our homepage beneath it (in Firefox and Google Chrome, just close the tab called "Your Browser and This Website" at the top of your screen).
